The European Digital Innovation Hub AI-EDIH (EDIH) has developed and launched an AI-based chatbot for the Municipality of Tryavna. The solution is implemented within the framework of the Test-Before-Invest service , through which EDIH supports public organizations and enterprises in testing and implementing innovative digital technologies in a real environment.
The new intelligent assistant is active on the official website of the Municipality of Tryavna: https://tryavna.bg/ and aims to facilitate citizens’ access to information related to the administrative services provided by the municipality, as well as other current issues affecting the Municipality of Tryavna.
The chatbot is built using the latest generation of Google technologies, based on Gemini , and integrates modern approaches in the field of artificial intelligence. Behind the solution are advanced technological concepts such as a hybrid model (generative + deterministic model) , which combines generative AI capabilities with predefined logic and rules; grounding with data stores / knowledge , through which answers are based on reliable sources of information; as well as omnichannel and backend integrations , creating a basis for more effective connectivity with digital resources.
The technological solution allows users to ask questions in natural language without having to navigate through different sections and menus on their own. This makes access to information faster, easier and more convenient, and interaction with the administration is significantly improved.
At this stage, the chat bot is operating in test mode . In the process of its operation, the system will be gradually upgraded and improved , and over time the scope of its knowledge will expand and the accuracy of the answers provided will increase . The test period is an important part of the development of the solution, as it allows for optimization of the assistant’s behavior and its adaptation to the real needs of citizens.
