The Technical University of Gabrovo hosted the International Scientific Conference Mechatronics, Eco and Energy-Saving Systems and Technologies – GABROVO`25, organized within the framework of project BG16RFPR002-1.014-0005 – Center of Competence “Intelligent Mechatronic, Eco- and Energy-Saving Systems and Technologies.”
The event took place on September 26, 2025, in the conference hall of the Center of Competence at TU – Gabrovo and brought together representatives from the scientific community, industry, educational institutions, and public administration. The main focus was on regional innovation ecosystems and smart transformation as part of the vision for sustainable development and technological progress.
Key highlights of the program included:
- Roundtable discussion: Gabrovo’s Innovation Ecosystem – Synergies for Growth;
- Presentation: Science and Innovation at the Heart of the Regions;
- Presentation: European Digital Innovation Hub – North Central Region;
- Demonstrations of applied research and laboratory equipment.
Special attention was given to the presentation of the European Digital Innovation Hub – North Central Region. The presentation focused on the hub’s core services and the progress achieved so far.
- Laboratories for AI, 3D printing, digital twins, and environmental technologies
- Training programs in AI, IIoT, Big Data, design thinking, and TRIZ (Systematic Inventive Thinking)
- Over BGN 12 million in attracted funding
- Collaboration with European hubs and accelerators – 6 international partnerships.
The event concluded with a final discussion summarizing key takeaways and outlining opportunities for further collaboration among participants.
