New Partnership Boosts Digital Innovation Between Bulgaria and Romania

AI EDIH North Central Bulgaria (ADi4SMEs) and EDIH Digital Innovation Zone (EDIH-DIZ 2.0) in Iași, Romania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cross-border cooperation in digital innovation.

The signed agreement sets the foundation for joint initiatives supporting SMEs, research, and public services in adopting advanced technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, and IoT .

Through this partnership, the two hubs will collaborate on:

  • joint projects and pilot initiatives
  • training, workshops, and technology demonstrations
  • knowledge exchange and matchmaking for SMEs

The two hubs will also collaborate in advocacy efforts to support digital transformation policies at regional, national, and European levels.

The cooperation will run for three years, aiming to enhance innovation capacity and create new opportunities for businesses across both regions. Importantly, the Memorandum reflects a shared commitment rather than a binding legal agreement, allowing both parties the flexibility to innovate and expand their collaboration organically.
