A startup pitching session was held in Gabrovo, where a team presented their innovative small-scale vertical wind turbine with a capacity of up to 5 kWh. The turbine, designed for urban and rural applications, can operate at wind speeds as low as 0.8 m/s. Despite having previously patented the product (now expired), the team is seeking funding and partnerships to modify the generator, build two pre-series prototypes, and advance the technology to TRL 9.
The event brought together representatives from the Municipality of Gabrovo, Technical University of Gabrovo, RIC Gabrovo, Mechatronica, ELNA, Senstate, and the Cluster for Renewable Energy Sources. Discussions highlighted the need for a detailed project proposal and a comprehensive business plan to address technical challenges, secure funding, and align efforts for prototype development and market entry.
